FAQ

Answers to the questions we get most. Every plugin has a free 14-day trial, so you can hear it in your own sessions before buying. Need more detail? Our support page has installation guides, DAW-specific help and the manuals.

Can I try a plugin before I buy it?

Yes — every plugin has a 14-day free trial, and it's the full plugin: every control, every preset, no time-outs mid-session and no noise bursts over your mix.

Open any plugin's page and click 14-Day Free Trial below Add to Cart. That's a $0 checkout — enter your email, no payment details needed — and the download arrives by email. Trial as many as you like.

What formats and systems do you support?

AU, VST3 and AAX (64-bit) for Mac, and VST3 (64-bit) for PC.

macOS: 10.13 and up, native on both Apple Silicon and Intel.

Windows: 10 and newer.

Which DAWs do your plugins work with?

All the major ones. Logic Pro and GarageBand use AU; Ableton Live, Cubase, Studio One, Reaper, FL Studio, Bitwig and Reason use VST3; Pro Tools uses AAX.

If your DAW doesn't see a plugin after installing, it usually just needs a rescan — the support page walks through it per DAW.

Where are my download links?

In your order confirmation email, sent the moment you buy, and in your account under Order history.

Can't find the email? Check spam, then search your inbox for "Desert Moon Audio". If it still isn't there, contact us from the address you ordered with and we'll resend it.

Where is my license key?

In the same order confirmation email as your download link.

Install the plugin, open it in your DAW, and enter the key once. You'll need to be online for that first activation, but not afterwards.

How do I install your plugins?

Download the installer from your order email, run it, and pick the formats you want. Restart your DAW afterwards so it picks up the new plugins.

The installer puts everything in the standard place for your system, so there's nothing to drag around by hand. Step-by-step instructions are on the support page.

How many computers can I use one license on?

Each license can be active on all machines you personally own at once — plenty for a studio desktop, a laptop and a couple of spares.

It covers machines you own, not a second person on their own rig. Moving to a new computer? Deactivate the plugin on the old one and the slot frees up immediately; if that machine is gone for good, contact us and we'll release it for you.

Do I need an internet connection?

Only once, to activate. After that the plugin runs completely offline and never phones home.

If a studio machine is permanently offline, get in touch and we'll sort out an activation for it.

Are updates free? Is there a subscription?

Updates are free, and there is no subscription. Every purchase is a perpetual license — pay once and the plugin is yours for life.

To update, download the current installer from your account and run it over the top of the old version.

Will my presets reset if I install a new version?

No. Your saved presets live in your own user folder, separate from the plugin itself, and installing a new version only replaces the plugin.

Sessions that use the plugin reopen with their settings intact.

How do I uninstall a plugin?

Delete the plugin files from the folders the installer used — on Mac, /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components (AU) and /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3 (VST3); AAX lives in the Avid plug-ins folder. On Windows, uninstall from Settings → Apps, or delete the plugin from C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3.

Removing the plugin doesn't delete your presets, and your license key keeps working if you reinstall later.

Do you offer refunds?

If you haven't activated your license, you can request a refund within 14 days of purchase and we'll refund you in full. Once a license is activated it can't be returned — which is exactly why every plugin has a free trial, so please use it before buying.

If a plugin won't install or won't run properly on a system that meets our requirements, that's ours to fix. Contact us first — and if we genuinely can't get it working, we'll refund you either way.

What is the Everything Bundle — and what if I already own some plugins?

The Everything Bundle is every plugin we make in one purchase, at 30% off buying them individually. As new plugins are released they're added to it.

Already own a few? Log in and the plugins you've bought are automatically credited — the discount is applied at checkout, so you only pay the bundle rate on what's new to you.
